Enhance Your Business Rule Management and Execution Platform with MOURI DSA

MOURI DSA helps extend SAP NW DSM/BRFplus running on SAP NW/SAP ECC/SAP S4H into a multi-platform, all-purpose and multi-lingual business rule management and execution platform harmonize the entire business flow. Based on mature SAP technologies (SAP NW DSM/BRFplus), this add-on enables central creation and distribution of SAP business rules and decision services onto non-SAP servers, devices, and platforms as executable packages. MOURI DSA is developed in close collaboration with SAP’s development team in Germany.

High Performance

In mass scenarios, service call overhead can become prohibitive and tedious, and remote communication overhead can take longer (up to 10x) than executing the rules.

Network Reliability

When bandwidth is limited or if the network is unstable, local execution becomes ideal. In mobile setups, network reliability is an important aspect.

Sending critical data via network can be avoided by enterprises by executing the rules locally for better regulatory compliance (PCI, SOX).

Loose Coupling

By removing dependency on other systems, it avoids a single point of failure. For example, maintenance of the SAP back-end should not take down the e-commerce platform.

High-Level System Architecture

MOURI DSA is offered as a stand-alone or cloud solution to generate SAP BRFplus rules into other languages like Java, C#, C++, JavaScript, Python and so on. In the cloud solution, generation is based on a decision service/function, which is extracted and transmitted to the cloud in an XML file. However, in the stand-alone version, the rules are created on the clients’ preferred non-SAP systems with some manual configurations.

This high-level diagram (below) shows how MOURI DSA is used to generate Java archive and deploy it into a non-SAP system. The same principle is applicable to other languages as well.

The major advantage with MOURI DSA is, it simplifies your system’s architecture, without any additional hardware requirements and allows for more homogeneous, integrated business rules and decision service management. Without MOURI DSA, enterprises using SAP BRFplus may end up creating the same rules in non-SAP systems using another rule engine making the maintenance of the rules very challenging.

Work is in progress to extend MOURI DSA capabilities to HRF (HANA Rules Framework), so HRF rules can be executed on non-SAP systems as well.
